Explore the calm waters of Golfo Dulce on a half-day boat tour focused on dolphins, whales and other marine wildlife.
This experience combines wildlife observation, coastal scenery and time in the water while traveling through one of Costa Rica’s most important tropical gulfs.
Check-in takes place at 7:45 a.m., fifteen minutes before departure.
The boat leaves Puerto Jimenez at 8:00 a.m.
The tour lasts approximately four hours and finishes at around 12:00 p.m. at the same departure point.
Participants should arrive on time for check-in, boarding instructions and a short safety briefing.
After leaving Puerto Jimenez, the boat travels through Golfo Dulce while the guide and captain search for marine activity.
Possible observations may include dolphins, sea turtles, manta rays, schools of fish, seabirds and other species found in the gulf.
During whale migration season, visitors may also have the opportunity to observe humpback whales traveling, resting or caring for their calves.
The guide will explain the behavior of the animals encountered and the importance of Golfo Dulce as a feeding, breeding and nursery area for marine wildlife.

Marine animals move freely, and sightings depend on season, weather, ocean conditions, food availability and natural behavior. Every tour is different.
When weather and water conditions are suitable, the tour includes a refreshing swimming break in a safe area selected by the captain and guide.
Participants may enter the water, cool down and enjoy the surroundings before continuing the boat journey.
Swimming is optional and always depends on current conditions.

Participants should bring lightweight clothing, swimsuit, towel, sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, drinking bottle and waterproof protection for phones or cameras.
A light rain jacket is recommended because weather conditions can change quickly on the gulf.
Binoculars and cameras are welcome, but all electronic equipment should be protected from spray and water.
Participants must follow the instructions of the captain and guide throughout the activity.
Life jackets are available on board and may be required depending on conditions.
The boat maintains a respectful distance from dolphins, whales and other marine animals. Wildlife is never chased, touched or fed.
The route may change according to weather, ocean conditions and the location of wildlife.
The tour may be delayed, modified or cancelled if conditions are considered unsafe.
